…. in loving memory of Mark, the last dolphin from the Constanta Delfinarium.

A few days ago I found out that at the beginning of the month the 23year old dolphin and the last one alive had passed away, leaving his audience to be entertained by only 2 sea lions.
Like in a chapter from Proust’s novel, this triggered a part of my memory that I thought it was long forgotten. I was only 8-9 years old when my parents took me for the first time to this amazing place at the Romanian seaside. It had an aquarium, a planetarium and a delfinarium and an ice cream truck in front. What else would a child want to be completely happy?
So when I finally decided to return to my hometown a few days ago after a long absence of 3 years, my strongest desire was to look for this photo, taken years ago, when as a child I was thrilled to see Mark’s representation at Constanta.
