“Imagine that you have left behind your laptop and turned off your smart phone. You are beyond the reach of youtube, facebook, email, text messages.” This is how an article from New York Times begins, discussing further on about the science of paying attention. To lead a focused life is the message of Ms Gallangher, the author of the book “Rapt”, that also suggests that multitasking is just a myth. Needless to say, women are believed to have the ability to think of more things at the same time and to do this better than men. Apparently, this is not possible in her opinion, moreover it defies the point of having a defined purpose.

What i find fascinating about this article is that Ms G came up with this amazing brilliantly exposed idea after seeing in the deepest abyss of her reckless life and confronted with every day life intemperies such as a terrible disease called cancer. It is only when one feels misery that he seeks enlightenment therefore comes up with what he calls his absolute personal truth. Trilling as it may seem at a first glance, i find it ridiculous when they insist on convincing others to adopt their values. There is nothing wrong in writing books as well as keeping a blog (ahem ahem) as long as they are not infatuate enough to consider themselves followers. But then again, many leaders exit and even more want to be lead.

It comes down to saying that no matter what the truth is, i am also able to construct my own truth. And when i leave home and have the choice of choosing between the only fiction novel that i’ve started reading in 8 months and my new iphone, there is no wonder that i decide to take the l later one with Me. A whole day of volunteering at an AI&Gaming event can be a good opportunity to finish reading, but why should i do that when i can have an entire virtual world available to Me through a only a few inch device? And who can tell Me that multitasking does not exist when i can clearly wrote on my blog , sip some caffeine with biscuits(haven’t had then in suuuuch a long time), think about guys, but still pay attention to Tom Scutt’s talk about artificial intelligence-artificial stupidity (nb: cool presentation btw)

However, how can I choose the priority of this activities in my mind? Then boys would come last and caffeine would be first cause I haven’t had enough sleep last night again… And the blog can wait, while the talk is only now. But what do I want? Like these gamers that dream about a new improved lara craft, I have my own wishes that I should focus more on. A warmer place with sand and exotic cocktail enjoying the tranquility of a lake and listening to the echoes of a bob Marley tune….. In between this dream something pulls me back to reality. Yeah, I just lost my ability to concentrate. Daydreaming. But why not?
